BiH’s State Police (SIPA) and the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office carried out the operation "Incitat" on Monday morning and arrested the mayor of Trnovo, Ibro Berilo, as well as two others who are suspected of corruption.
The suspects are accused of selling or buying state property on Bjelasnica mountain.
Prosecutors believe that, although he received the apartment as a gift from the owner of the hotel Aroma on Bjelasnica. Berilo allegedly tried to disguise it as his own property and hundreds of thousands of BAM were found in his wife's account. N1 learned that Berilo did not report this to the Sarajevo Kanton Anti-Corruption Office, even though he was obliged to do so as a public office holder.
In addition to his wife's account, large sums of money were also found in the accounts of Adis Mulaosmanovic, the owner of LOK-PIL d.o.o. and Edina Dzigal. All of them, along with Nermin Demirovic (former director of public company Sarajevo Sume) and Nadja Milisic, a municipal employee, are charged with conspiring to commit criminal acts, namely abuse of position or authority and money laundering.
