Bosnia’s State Police seized on Monday documentation from the Sarajevo University Clinical Center (KCUS) on patients who died or were treated for Covid-19 at the institution and the activities will continue on Tuesday.
The officers from the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) also took documentation regarding rules and procedures at the institution.
The activities are related to an investigation initiated following a public letter by a group of anesthesiologists who used to work at the KCUS, as well as reports of patients who passed away while being treated there.
In their letter, the anesthesiologists warned that ventilators that are not fit for treating COVID-10 are being used on patients at KCUS and that this resulted in fatalities.
The head of the institution, Sebija Izebtegovic, denied that any patients died because of the ventilators and that the devices had all the necessary permits for use.
