The Principal Deputy High Representative and Supervisor for the Brcko District, Louis Crishock, commented on the recent political debates in Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning the status of the Brcko District, warning domestic political leaders to stop using the District for daily political confrontations.

The Office of the High Representative (OHR) told FENA that Crishock "reminds all political leaders and parties to refrain from using the Brcko District for the purpose of scoring political points."

Crishock reiterated the position of the Presiding Arbitrator for Brcko, Ambassador Clint Williamson, who in March of this year emphasized that the arbitration process and the Final Award on Brcko District are final and unquestionable, and that all parties are obliged to consistently respect their provisions, including supporting state institutions that are crucial for the stability and security of the District.

The statement comes after the SDA Main Board called for the adoption of a final decision by which the Arbitral Tribunal would award Brcko District to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for reinforced sanctions against the regime of the president of BiH's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, and for an increased EUFOR presence to protect returnees and assist domestic institutions in enforcing the Constitution and laws and maintaining peace.
