Promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s investment opportunities held in Beijing

A presentation showcasing Bosnia and Herzegovina’s investment opportunities was held in Beijing as part of the Global Workshop for Chinese Investors. The event was organized by the China-Europe Association for Economic and Technical Cooperation in partnership with the embassies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova in China.

The workshop brought together representatives of more than 120 Chinese companies, along with officials from public institutions, academia, and research organisations. Its goal was to provide Chinese investors with high-quality, comprehensive information on investment opportunities in Southeast Europe, with particular emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Ambassador to China, Siniša Berjan, addressed the gathering and underscored the importance of such initiatives in boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.

In his presentation, Ambassador Berjan outlined Bosnia and Herzegovina’s key competitive advantages, including its strategic geographic location, stable and competitive business climate, energy and industrial capacities, fiscal incentives, and a range of available projects.

The construction industry was highlighted as a leading sector, alongside significant opportunities in energy, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure development, and mineral resource exploitation.

Through a video link, legal experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina also briefed participants on the country’s legal framework for foreign investors. They provided detailed insights into foreign investment protection, tax and customs incentives, free trade zones, employment regulations, and intellectual property rights.

The event offered participants a thorough overview of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s investment landscape and facilitated direct discussions between Chinese business leaders and Embassy representatives, where concrete models of future cooperation were explored.

Attendees praised both the organisation and content of the workshop, noting that initiatives of this kind play a crucial role in strengthening not only economic but also cultural ties between the two countries.

According to the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in China, the workshop is expected to generate new projects and investments that will further enhance bilateral trade, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange.
