The President of the Association of Young Artists of BiH and the Director of the Youth Film Festival Sarajevo, Kenan Music, launched an initiative to organize a protest car ride through the BiH capital, in support of Bogic Bogicevic, a prominent wartime politician who withdrew his candidacy for Sarajevo Mayor.
He announced the ride to the Sarajevo Canton Interior Ministry, and on Saturday, March 27, he asked the Ministry of Transport to change the traffic regime so that the convoy of vehicles could pass through the city unhindered and thus express their support for Bogic Bogicevic and dissatisfaction with the political environment in the city.
Music pointed out that this is not a political, but a civic “gathering” and an initiative by which all citizens, who supported this proposal, want to express their dissatisfaction with political games regarding the candidacy of Bogic Bogicevic for Mayor of Sarajevo.
The initiator of the protest ride stated in a press release that the display of political messages and banners will not be allowed.
Bogic Bogicevic withdrew from the race for Sarajevo Mayor saying he did not want inter-party relations to be disturbed because of him, nor did he want his name to be used in inappropriate political and election games, which, as he stated, was seen during Wednesday session of the Sarajevo City Council.
