A protest rally will be held in front of the Montenegro Government building in Podgorica, at 7 pm, over the dissatisfaction with the announcement of the executive power that it will support the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica at the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, Vijesti news portal reported on Wednesday.

A large number of police officers with riot gear are located in the courtyard between the Government building and the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Barricades in front of the buildings of the highest state authorities are secured by uniformed police, Vijesti reported.

The Police Administration said earlier on Wednesday that the gathering was not announced.

The organizers of the meeting are Serb cultural centre “Patriarch Varnava”, Serb cultural club “Sveti Sava”, Serb society Sveti Sava from Bijelo Polje, Association of admirers of the participants of the liberation wars 1912-1918, NGO “Herceg” – Pljevlja, NGO “Srpska nit”, NGO “Bozuri”, NGO “Stupovi”, NGO “Miholjski zbor”, NGO “Serdar” and the Night wolves.

“We invite all the freedom-loving people of Montenegro, who guarded the holy places with us and were in lities for more than a year, to join us in front of the Montenegro Government in Podgorica on May 22, from 7 p.m., in order to send a message to those we supported at the time, hoping for justice for the Serb people,” the organizers of the protest stated earlier in a statement for the IN4S portal.

They said that “by submitting the proposal for the Resolution on Srebrenica, this Government headed by Milojko Spajic showed in the rudest way that it does not respect the victims of the Serb people and that it nullifies all the values of our three-decades-old struggle.”

“We don’t agree to the continuation of the servile policy that Milo Djukanovic pursued, and that some others are continuing today. It is our national duty to resist yet another attempt to impose collective guilt on us as a people,” the organizers said.
