Razija Mujanovic used her own money to pay the obligations to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in order for the BiH national team to get a new player.
The BiH sports legend and member of the Basketball Hall of Fame in America’s Springfield, in which only the greatest athletes have a place, decided to do this after being told “that the Basketball Federation of BiH currently does not have the money to pay the administrative obligations to FIBA,” Raport news portal wrote.
As Mujanovic is currently in the position of team manager of the BiH women’s national team, and the “Dragons,” as all BiH national teams are called affectionately, need reinforcements before the continuation of the qualification for the European Championship, the legendary basketball player decided to take matters into her own hands.
Mujanovic paid FIBA 3,000 Swiss francs (some 6,000 Bosnian marks) so that the player Jovana Mandic would immediately get the right to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Jovana Mandić (30 years old, 193 centimetres tall), is a member of the Slovak Premier League club Slavia Banska Bystrica. This season, Mandic is averaging 9.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 21.7 minutes in the Slovak Championship.
She grew up in Prijedor, BiH, where she started playing basketball. She then studied and played basketball in the United States. After that, her journey took her to Spain, Italy, Argentina, Hungary, Portugal…
