The readmission agreement between Bosnia and Pakistan and the Protocol between the BiH Security Ministry Pakistan’s Interior Ministry on the implementation of that agreement entered into force on July 23, which created the conditions for returning Pakistani migrants who are staying in BiH illegally to their home country.

This is an extremely important agreement for BiH, since the country has in recent years been part of the route migrants take to reach Western Europe.

Pakistani nationals make up a significant proportion of illegal migrants in BiH, and it is expected that the Agreement will ultimately reduce the pressure on certain local communities.
