Bosnia’s Mostar will once again host the world's best male and female divers, on September 9, in a new sports spectacle on the Old Bridge. It will be the eighth visit of the world's cliff-diving elite to the country.
The 14th edition of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Championship will have seven stops worldwide from June to November. The 2023 season brings three new and several well-known locations. Mostar is among the competition locations, for the eighth consecutive time which has acquired the status of a true classic of the championship, recognizable by its fiery crowd and the famous bridge from the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.
The titles will be defended by ten-time champion Gary Hunt (France) in the men's category and six-time champion Rhiannan Iffland (Australia) in the women's category. The two have been dominant for years, but last year they had fierce competition from the upcoming generation of jumpers, who are seriously threatening to dethrone them.
