The protest of six trade union organizations will be held Friday in Banja Luka. The gathering began at 11 am and at 12 pm the trade unionists and workers in the Republika Srpska police, judiciary, health system and public administration will start a walk from Mladen Stojanović Park to Krajina Square.
One of the signs carried by the gathered says: “Don't give us bread, you need it more.”
“Our rights are threatened, we are fighting for the depoliticization of all processes in the public sector. The fight is not only for salaries but for fair working conditions,” said one of the protest participants.
One of the doctors at the hospital in Doboj, who will also support today's rally, said:
“We want salaries from which you can live solidly. We have no holiday bonus, no hot meal, we are deprived on all levels. Redistribution should be made, so that everyone can live normally. It is being paid now, it should have been done 4-5 years ago. Workers are paid partially when they retire. We are deprived of everything. The hospital has a kitchen for patients, and yet we don't have food. We never got the money for holiday bonuses or hot meals.”
Trade unionists will walk past the Government building, the National Assembly and the Palace of Republika Srpska, all because of dissatisfaction with the work of RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic's cabinet.
