A recent regional survey by Valicon shows that Bosnian citizens are the ones who most want to be vaccinated - almost two-thirds of BiH citizens want to be inoculated against COVID-19. Once the vaccine is available - BiH citizens would choose Sputnik V or Pfizer - BioNTech vaccines, the research suggests, Valicon said Wednesday.
The research shows that 61 percent of BiH citizens plan to get vaccinates, placing Bosnia at the top in the region. On the other hand, the research recorded a significant percentage of those who do not plan to get vaccinated – 27 percent of them said they will probably not get vaccinated, and 12 percent said they will definitely not get the vaccine.
Unlike Bosnians, Croatians and Slovenians are a bit less keen on receiving the vaccine, with only 50 percent who answered positively to the questionnaire with significantly more people who said they would definitely not receive the shot – 20 percent of them, to be exact.
Sputnik V and Pfizer are the most trusted vaccines among the BiH population
The Bosnian public would prefer the Sputnik V, or the Russian vaccine, the most (48 percent) followed by the Pfizer-BioNTech (46 percent) and only a quarter would receive the AstraZeneca and Sinovac/Sinopharm, or the Chinese vaccine) – however, these vaccines would not be their first choice, the research suggests.
The least trusted vaccines among the Bosnian public are the ones from Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and the Cambridge vaccine.
The research also found that a quarter of the BH population would receive neither of the said vaccines which have been approved in the world, nor some vaccines approved in only certain parts of the globe.
