The main issue in Bosnia and Herzegovina should not be potential border changes in the Western Balkans, but the inability of our government to protect the health of the people in light of the pandemic, Mirko Sarovic, the leader of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), told N1.
Sarovic’s party is one of the main opposition parties in Bosnia’s semi-autonomous Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

“The most important issue is the procurement of vaccines to save the population of this country, which is an issue where the government has absolutely failed, and that is a fact that we should present and talk about every day, and not about phantom papers,” said the SDS president, referring to a recently published alleged ‘non-paper’ which propose redrawing borders in the Western Balkans.
The document, published by the Slovenian news portal necenzurirano.si, proposes Kosovo joining Albania and Serbia annexing parts of Bosnia’s Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity, while the mostly Croat-populated parts of southern Bosnia and Herzegovina would become part of Croatia.
According to the Slovenian news portal, the country’s PM, Janez Jansa, sent the document to Brussels. Jansa denied those claims.
According to Sarovic, the issue of the non-paper is overblown and used by the ruling parties in the country to steer away attention from their failures in responding to the coronavirus pandemic and procurement of vaccines.
