RS Interior Ministry alerts agencies of alleged plot to assassinate journalist Avdo Avdic

According to Istraga.ba, MoI RS stated that sources linked to the assembly of the device believe the bomb was targeting Avdic. This information was forwarded to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), which subsequently shared the findings with the Federation (FBiH) entity’s Police Administration (FUP), the Sarajevo Canton MoI, and the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. Avdic was officially notified of the threat at the Sarajevo Canton MoI premises on Thursday afternoon.

The investigation dates back to January 13, when MoI RS officers arrested three Sarajevo residents: Alen Fazlagic, Seluedin Durakovic, and Elvir Javorovac, in Milici, who were transporting a remote-controlled car bomb from Zvornik toward Sarajevo. The suspects are allegedly linked to the criminal group led by Dino "Cezar" Muzaferovic. During the vehicle search, officers discovered an improvised device containing approximately 900 grams of explosives.

Despite the discovery of the explosives, drugs, and forged documents, the acting prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Istocno Sarajevo released the trio immediately after questioning, without proposing detention or restrictive measures.

Following their release, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office intervened, ordering the FUP to re-arrest the individuals on January 24. The Municipal Court in Sarajevo has since imposed restrictive measures on Fazlagic, Durakovic, and Javorovac, including a ban on visiting specific areas and a strict prohibition on mutual contact or communication.
