The President of Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, insulted Bosniaks on Saturday, saying that they "genetically hate Serbs," and falsely claimed that the new NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, had said that Srebrenica was "the biggest fraud in history".
Dodik made the insulting and untrue statements in the eastern Bosnian town of Bratunac during a commemoration for the Serbs killed there during the 1992-1995 war.
He said that the killings of Serbs were the result of the policy practised “from Pag and Jadovno to Jasenovac”, referring to the WWII Ustasha-run concentration camps in Croatia, and blamed the war crimes committed in the 1990s war on the Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslim). He said that the Bosniaks had been colonised in eastern Bosnia as part of a plan to separate the Serbs living on both sides of the River Drina.
Similar claims were also made by Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, who said that the war crimes against the Serbs in eastern Bosnia were the continuation of the genocidal policy against the Serbs.
“They wanted to punish us because we settled on both banks of the Drina, because according to them, the Drina is the border between the eastern and western hemispheres. That's why they slaughtered, killed and displaced us both in the First and the Second World War, as well as in the last war,” Vucevic said in his incendiary speech.
Dodik again denied the Srebrenica genocide, saying it was “a huge lie.”
Srebrenica is located about 10 kilometres south of Bratunac.
