International investment conference, the Sarajevo Business Forum, has opened in Sarajevo on Wednesday in presence of the Bosnian and foreign officials as well as the entrepreneurs and representatives of the business world. Pročitaj više
After a two-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event has resumed the tradition of gathering of the key business and political figures from the region and the world.
This year's edition of the Forum is held under the motto ‘Nearshoring – a perspective for the region’, i.e. a practice of relocating of production capacities of European companies to BiH and other countries of the region.
The first day of the event will focus on the economic recovery following the pandemic, and the event will be among others addressed by former Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, former prime minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev, head of the Istanbul Trade Chamber Sekib Avdagic, a representative of the European Investment Bank for BiH and North Macedonia Sandrine Friscia, and other representatives of some 40 countries.
Organisers will hand over the prestigious Sarajevo Business Bridge Awards to the companies and individuals who made a contribution to the development of entrepreneurship, sustainable development and the investment climate in the region through their business, innovative ideas and youth employment, at a ceremony at the State Parliament's building.
The second day of the two-day event will be opened by Chris Barton, Her Majesty's Trade Commissioner to Europe and will focus on the potentials of the region of the Western Balkans. One of the four panels will be addressed by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development representative for BiH Manuela Naessl.
There will be a total of five panel discussions during the two-day Sarajevo Business Forum, with B2B meetings on the second day to network participants and develop new business opportunities.
The organiser the investment conference in the region is Bosna Bank International (BBI) Sarajevo under the auspices of the Presidency of BiH and in cooperation with a strategic partner – the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, and shareholders of BBI Bank – Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and other partners.
Porto Montenegro from Montenegro is the platinum sponsor of the Conference, and the official airline of the 11th SBF is Turkish Airlines, according to BBI Bank.
