Construction works on the 60-megawatt hour Ivan Sedlo – Hadzici wind farm officially began, Sarajevo Canton’s Economy Minister Adnan Delic said Monday, adding that this windfarm will produce some 14 percent of the Canton’s total energy needs.
“Sixty megawatts of installed power covers 14% of the total needs of Canton Sarajevo. It is a guarantor of the development of the local community,” Delic said.
“A large wind park can be built here. The company that will perform the works was convinced of the wind power and potential here. We finally solved the administrative obstacles and today the preparation of the construction sites began,” said the head of the Hadzici Municipality, Hamdo Ejubovic.
Suzlon Wind Energy will perform the work. The investment for this project is worth some 70 million Bosnian marks (roughly €35 mil). The company pointed out that they had red-tape issues, but that it is all behind them. A 30-year contract with a concession was also signed, Monday.

Suzlon's production facilities are in India, the USA and China, while they have research facilities in nine countries around the world, such as Denmark, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
