Sarajevo Canton records 677,564 tourist arrivals in first nine months of 2026

Compared with the same period last year, tourist arrivals increased by more than 1.3 percent, while overnight stays rose by more than 2.2 percent.

There was also an increase in foreign visitors, with 588,232 international arrivals and more than 1.38 million overnight stays recorded.

In September alone, Sarajevo welcomed 90,612 tourists, who generated 191,169 overnight stays. The number of foreign tourist arrivals increased by 7.9 percent compared with September 2025.

Sarajevo continues to attract visitors from around the world, with the largest numbers coming from Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The figures confirm the growing interest in Sarajevo and the canton, with international demand remaining strong and the city continuing to strengthen its position on the global tourism map, the Sarajevo Canton Tourism Board said.
