According to statistical data from the Sarajevo Canton Tourism Board, this year's festival recorded 43,010 tourist arrivals, an increase of 2.4 percent compared to 2025, when 41,980 arrivals were recorded.
At the same time, tourists recorded 88,105 overnight stays, 1.6 percent more than during the same period in 2025, when 86,655 overnight stays were recorded.
The largest number of visitors during the festival came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Türkiye, Slovenia and Montenegro, confirming the festival's importance in attracting both regional and international visitors.
Haris Fazlagic, president of the Sarajevo Canton Tourism Board, said this year's SFF results once again demonstrated the significant impact major events can have on tourism and Sarajevo's international visibility.
''The Sarajevo Film Festival has long been much more than a film festival. It is one of the most important tourism events in our country and a major driver of arrivals and overnight stays. The 2.4 percent increase in arrivals and 1.6 percent increase in overnight stays compared to last year show that Sarajevo continues to strengthen its position as an attractive European destination. We are particularly pleased that guests from a large number of countries visit Sarajevo during the SFF, which is the result of joint efforts to promote the destination and create content that attracts visitors,'' Fazlagic said.
