The city of Sarajevo will not organize fireworks on New Year's Eve, Mayor Benjamina Karic announced.

Namely, Karic said that Sarajevo joined a large number of European cities that made the same decision, including Rome, Prague, Zagreb, Helsinki, Warsaw and others.

The money earmarked for fireworks will be paid to associations for the protection of animals, Karic explained.

As many as 44 Croatian cities and municipalities, including Zagreb, will not have fireworks n this year's New Year's Eve, but instead they will implement ecological and attractive light shows, in order to protect animals and the environment from negative consequences.

Given that Croatia has 428 municipalities and 127 cities, the joining of cities and municipalities to this idea is slow, but it is moving.

Therefore, the Animal Friends association praised everyone who rejected fireworks for the safety of people, animals and the environment, as well as stores that do not sell pyrotechnics.
