Protests in the Bosnian capital have concluded for the day, with organizers announcing that the demonstrations will resume tomorrow. Citizens gathered earlier on Sunday to continue voicing their outrage over the tragic tram accident that occurred on February 12 across from the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today’s march began at the site of the tragedy and proceeded through the city center to the Eternal Flame (Vjecna vatra).

According to N1 reporters on the ground, citizens arrived in significant numbers, leading to a blockade of the city's main thoroughfare. This marked the third consecutive protest where citizens expressed solidarity with the victims and the family of 23-year-old Erdoan Morankic, who was killed in the accident. The crowd is demanding institutional responsibility and systemic solutions to prevent such a catastrophe from happening again.

The accident occurred when a tram derailed in central Sarajevo. Morankic, a young man from Brcko, died at the scene, while four others were injured. Among the wounded is 17-year-old Ella Jovanovic, who remains in serious condition. At yesterday’s gathering, which lasted three hours, citizens expressed a profound sense of insecurity, stating they now fear using public infrastructure, particularly during winter conditions.

While the informal group "Reci dosta" (Say Enough) distanced itself from previous extended blockades, the youth-led group "Ne okreci glavu" (Don’t look away) took the lead for today’s mobilization. This group, which organized the initial protests on February 13, issued a public call stating there are "no excuses" for missing the rallies. Despite the rain in Sarajevo, the weather did not deter citizens from filling the streets. As the today's gathering disperses, the message remains clear: the protest is back on tomorrow.
