Sarajevo to host high-level EU enlargement conference with EPP leaders and Western Balkan officials

Sarajevo will host a conference dedicated to European Union enlargement on 8 and 9 June, bringing together senior political representatives from Western Balkan countries, the European People’s Party (EPP), the European Parliament, and partner organizations.

The central theme of the conference will also be the role of the EPP political family in strengthening European integration in the region.
As part of the first day of the conference, a high-level panel discussion will be held on the challenges and prospects of the European path of the Western Balkans, with the participation of EPP President Manfred Weber, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto, High Representative for BiH Christian Schmidt, and numerous senior officials from the region.
According to the organisers, the program will also include the signing of a revised EPP Family Declaration in Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2026, as well as media statements by representatives of EPP member parties from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The second day of the conference, 9 June, is reserved for an internal working session of representatives of EPP family political parties from the Western Balkans and will not be open to the public or media representatives.
