Sarajevo will get a mural dedicated to Michael Schumacher

The artists are painting the mural, which is their joint project with the Goethe Institute, on a building in the neighbourhood where the Schumacher visited the children of Sarajevo after the end of the war, took photos with them and gifted them toys.

"As children, we watched Formula 1, followed Schumacher and his masterful moves, he was our life idol," said Benjamin Cengic, one of the artists.

The seven-time world champion, who has been in a coma since 2013 after suffering a severe head injury, has visited Sarajevo twice as a UNESCO special ambassador on a fundraising project for treatment of children victims of shelling and landmines.
