The school year started in most of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday morning, while in some cantons in the semi-autonomous Federation (FBiH) entity, the first classes will take place on Monday.
Classes began on Wednesday morning in four of the ten cantons in FBiH – the Tuzla Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Bosnian-Podrinje Canton and the Sarajevo Canton.
In the Una-Sana Canton, Posavina Canton, Central-Bosnia canton, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, West-Herzegovina Canton and Canton 10, the first classes will take place on September 6.
According to current information, classes will take place in classrooms according to the regular curriculum, in compliance with the valid hygienic-epidemiological orders and recommendations of the competent authorities and institutions in all cantons.
However, the situation will be monitored and authorities may decide that classes should take place in another way if the epidemiological situation deteriorates.
In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), authorities decided earlier that classes will begin across the entire RS on September 1.
RS Education and Culture Minister, Natalija Trivic, said that classes online will be organised for all students who suffer from chronic health problems if they provide a doctor’s note.
