Civic activist Aida Corovic has been fined by the court with 100,000 dinars (1 euro – 117 dinars) for disturbing public order and peace in Belgrade in 2021 when she threw eggs at a mural of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic on the wall of a residential building, Corovic said in a post on Facebook.

She said she received the court ruling on Tuesday, stressing that Serbia has become “a penitentiary and a casemate” during the rule of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in which all sorts of criminals, murderers and “all kind of scum” have all possible protection, while all others have been sidelined.

“I mapped out my path a long time ago, I didn’t know how much it would cost me, but if I could go back I would always chose the same scenario,” said Corovic.

She added that pressures will not scare or discourage her, because those who are exerting the pressure are afraid of her more than she is afraid of them.
