Belgrade signed the joint statement on peaceful withdrawal from Afghanistan initiated by the US after the Taliban took control.

Some hundred world countries have already joined the initiative, while Bosnia and Herzegovina remains the only regional state that has not yet signed it.

The State Department document calls on all sides in Afghanistan to enable the safe and organised departure to foreign nationals who want to leave the country.

It adds that those “in power bear responsibility for the protection of human lives and property.”
