Shooting in Zepce: Three injured, suspect found dead in nearby forest

According to Samir Valentic, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the shooting occurred at approximately 11:40 am, when the attacker used an automatic rifle to wound three individuals.

“The assailant, identified by the initials A.A. (born in 1960) from Zepce, opened fire on B.J. (born in 1965), also from Zepce. During the attack, B.J., his wife (born in 1970), and their son (born in 1988) sustained injuries,” Valentic stated.

All three victims were transported to Zenica Cantonal Hospital, where they were diagnosed with severe injuries and remain under medical care.

Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene but was later discovered dead in a nearby forest.

“Members of the Special Police Unit of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Police Department found A.A.'s body in a forested area close to the crime scene. It is suspected that he committed suicide,” Valentic added.

The investigation was conducted by the Criminal Police Department under the supervision of the duty prosecutor.
