Members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) have initiated an operation in Banja Luka, where searches are currently being conducted at the premises of the Republika Srpska Health Insurance Fund (FZO), SIPA spokesperson Jelena Miovcic confirmed to N1.
The raids are part of an investigation into alleged abuse of office, with SIPA officers being assisted by members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to unofficial reports, the target of the investigation is the acting director of the Fund, Dejan Kusturic.
It is worth noting that the Health Insurance Fund had previously been under investigation due to procurement practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly related to the purchase of 165 respirators worth nearly 13 million Bosnian marks (some €7 million).
