SIPA officers arrest nine people in BiH

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) carried out an operation codenamed Zip today in the area of Gradacac, Srebrenik and Kladanj. During the operation, nine people were arrested, SIPA Spokesperson Jelena Miovcic told FENA news agency

She noted that the operation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and by order of the Court of BiH.

”This is an international operation in cooperation with the police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of Croatia, as well as with the support of EUROPOL. These crimes are organized crime, smuggling of persons, organizing a group or association for the commission of a criminal offence, and smuggling of migrants. All crimes are prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Miovcic said.

She pointed out that the arrested individuals are in the premises of SIPA and they are currently undergoing criminal investigation as well as interrogation as suspects.

”The acting prosecutor will announce the further status of the individuals. There will be more information and details during the day,” Miovcic said.
