In the first half of this year, six people have died from COVID-19 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed the Public Health Institute of FBiH to Fena.
During the same period, the Institute reported 188 cases of infection, with the highest numbers in the Herzegovina-Neretva, Sarajevo, and Una-Sana cantons.
The Institute noted that the majority of cases were recorded in January and February, which is typical as these months coincide with the peak of all respiratory illnesses.
Since 2023, COVID-19 testing has been conducted on a significantly smaller scale compared to the pandemic period, primarily among hospitalized patients with severe acute respiratory infections, explained the Institute.
Individuals with respiratory symptoms are advised to take personal precautionary measures and behaviors such as hand hygiene, staying home if feeling unwell, avoiding enclosed spaces, crowds, and close contacts, and to consult their family doctor.
