Slight increase in number of unemployed registered in FBiH

Women accounted for 149,732 of the unemployed, representing 60.81 percent of the total.

Of the total number of unemployed persons, 169,052 (68.65 percent) were skilled workers, while 77,192 (31.35 percent) were unskilled. A total of 86,853 people (35.27 percent) were seeking employment for the first time, according to data from the FBiH Employment Institute.

The unemployment register included 49,196 people aged between 15 and 29.

During June, 10,241 people were removed from the unemployment register of the FBiH's employment services, including 5,519 who found jobs. At the same time, 10,772 people registered as unemployed, of whom 6,025 did so following the termination of their employment.

Among the unemployed, the largest groups were skilled workers (KV) with 77,848 people, or 31.61 percent, and unskilled workers (NKV) with 74,112 people, or 30.1 percent. They were followed by people with secondary education (SSS), numbering 69,062 (28.05 percent), and those with university degrees (VSS), numbering 17,776 (7.22 percent). Also registered were 2,871 semi-skilled workers (PKV), 358 highly skilled workers (VKV), and 209 people with lower secondary education (NSS).

In June, there were 10,518 recipients of unemployment benefits, 37 fewer than in the previous month.

Health insurance through the cantonal employment services was provided to 177,777 people, an increase of 178 compared with the previous month. A total of 495 people exercised their right to pension and disability insurance through the purchase of pensionable service.

At the end of May this year, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina had 546,547 registered employed persons. Compared with the average for last year, the number of employed persons increased by 938, or 0.17 percent, while compared with the previous month it rose by 1,325, or 0.24 percent.
