The Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia, in collaboration with the Slovenian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, held an informational event in Sarajevo on Monday titled "Living and Working in Slovenia," emphasizing that workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina remain welcome in their country.
Anka Rode, head of the Foreign Employment Department at the Slovenian Employment Service, highlighted that their primary goal is to ensure that workers coming to Slovenia are well-informed about the living and working conditions to prevent any potential exploitation.
Rode noted that approximately 15,000 work permits are issued annually to workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Slovenia, with a minimum net salary of around 980 euros.
She also emphasized that, under a bilateral agreement, all workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina receive health and social benefits in Slovenia equivalent to those provided to domestic employees.
Slovenian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Damijan Sedar, underlined Slovenia's need for workers from Bosnia across various sectors.
He added that Bosnian citizens are highly respected in Slovenia, where they are welcomed in workplaces and as neighbours and friends.
“I am confident that Slovenia remains an attractive destination for those seeking employment outside Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Sedar said.
At the event, job seekers from Bosnia and Herzegovina will have the chance to connect with 56 Slovenian employers who collectively employ nearly 19,000 workers, primarily in healthcare and social services, transport and logistics, and construction sectors.
