Passengers in transit through Slovenia will be required to produce COVID certificates proving vaccination, recovery, or a recent negative test to coronavirus as of 29 August, the Slovenian government reported on Friday.

Thus, the application of the recovered-vaccinated-tested rule will not go into force on 23 August, which the Janez Jansa cabinet initially suggested but take effect six days later.

Currently, passengers in transit no longer than 12 hours are not required to meet the above-mentioned rule.

On the other hand, all other arrivals in Slovenia are expected to produce COVID certificates proving vaccination, recovery, or a recent negative test to coronavirus, or they have to quarantine.

The exemption from the rule will be applied to persons under 15, owners of properties in border areas, and cross-border commuters as well as employees in international transport.
