Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob stressed two messages to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the beginning of his official visit to the country on Monday.
“I’m here today because an important change has occurred in Slovenia, including the change in foreign policy. The principle of solidarity and political cooperation between nations intensified, because only in this way will we achieve economic progress. Where else – but in BIH to implement these principles. We also want that because of our economic relations, our efforts are logical and there are no hidden agendas,” Golob said speaking about the relations between the two countries.
He addressed the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina with two key messages.
The first refers to the centre of the European Union, Brussels, where Golob pointed out that there is a different atmosphere than before, and that there is now a historic opportunity that BiH should take advantage of. In principle, the new circumstances imply that numerous sceptics and opponents of the Union's expansion have become more open and ready on this issue, after the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The second message of the Slovenian Prime Minister is that his country does not want to be just a friendly country, but the biggest ally of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“On that way, we offer all possible help – from technical, administrative, professional, to financial,” Golob announced.
He added that through talks with the chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Kristo, he particularly emphasized Slovenia's position on Bosnia’s economic potential, as well as their readiness to invest in renewable energy sources.
