The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca, issued a formal statement via the X platform warning that the potential collapse or disappearance of the state broadcaster, BHRT, would signify a major regression for the country.
Ambassador Soreca highlighted a high-level meeting held yesterday involving the Quint Ambassadors and the BiH Presidency Chair, Denis Becirovic. The session was dedicated to addressing the critical operational status of the public broadcaster.
"A stable, functional, and truly independent public broadcasting (RTV) system is a clear and long-standing EU priority in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ensuring a sustainable, predictable, and lawful financing model is urgent and can no longer be postponed," Soreca emphasized.
