
Days of severe weather and snowfall, coupled with transport disruption and early flooding, have caused significant power outages in parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the state utility Elektroprivreda BiH said on Saturday.

The situation is most severe in the northwest, particularly in Una-Sana Canton, where several towns are without electricity. Firefighters there are also dealing with storm damage, including numerous fallen trees blocking roads, while some areas have lost mobile phone signal.
Power cuts have also been reported near Sarajevo and in parts of central Bosnia and in Herzegovina, including the Konjic area.
The Sava River Basin Agency issued a warning over rising river levels due to rainfall and snowmelt.
In the Prnjavor area, the Sana river overflowed its banks today, flooding nearby residential and commercial buildings.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina Auto-Moto Club said traffic across the country was moving with difficulty, especially on mountain passes where restrictions are in place for lorries and other heavy vehicles.
