Strongmen, people who carry the epithet of the strongest in the world, gathered Saturday at the Stojcevac picnic area near Bosnia’s capital, where they demonstrated their strength and showed their skills as part of the world competition Strongman Champions League.
A large number of Sarajevans gathered at Stojcevac and enjoyed this attractive competition, and had the opportunity to see the skills of 13 competitors from the same number of countries, who competed in five different disciplines.
Among the “strongest people in the world” were competitors from Finland, Spain, Australia, Great Britain and other countries.
The organizer is the Association “Snagator” led by Damir Stroil and Adin Arnaut. Damir Stroil was supposed to represent BiH in this competition today, but an injury prevented him from doing so.
“Strongman Champions League has 16 world stages and one of the stages is Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to truck pulling, we have the disciplines of car lifting, log overhead lifting, lifting concrete balls up to 180 kilograms, carrying a suitcase of 155 kilograms in both hands,” said Adin Arnaut, the organizer of the competition.
The Strongman League of Champions in Sarajevo is one of the qualifying world competitions whose finals are held in the Caribbean in November this year.
The Strongman League of Champions was founded by Ilkka Kinnunen and Marcel Mostert, long-time promoters of strongmen with a history of participation in major world competitions. Marcel Mostert was also present in Sarajevo.
