The police security of the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadic, was improved after a suspect who tried to endanger her was arrested on Friday, the Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office said.
The suspect whose initials are I.A. was taken to the Olovo Police Station, where they will be criminally processed, the Prosecution said.
They were said to be a convict serving a sentence, but who was on leave from prison at the time.
“Police officers of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies (DKPT) of BiH, together with partner police agencies in the field and the competent cantonal Prosecutor's Office, are checking all data and information about the person who endangered the safety of Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadic and her vehicle as well as the police escort,” the State Prosecutor's Office stated.
“The interception and endangerment of vehicles happened on Friday afternoon near the Bosnian town of Olovo. The Chief Prosecutor’s vehicle was accompanied by police vehicles with visible light and signals, so it is excluded that the perpetrator did not know that this was a person under 24-hour police protection,” the statement added.
