The IzuS said in a press release that “the fascist graffiti is a provocation and a threat” adding that it expects the authorities to react immediately to find the perpetrators and punish them, providing reassurance to the Muslim community.

The Izus is one of two Islamic communities in Serbia. The IzuS is based in the southwestern city of Novi Pazar and is under the jurisdiction of the Islamic Community of Bosnia-Herzegovina while the rival Islamic Community of Serbia is an independent body based in Belgrade.
