Tens of thousands of fans flooded Bosnia’s capital to celebrate World Cup spot after dramatic victory over Italy

Tens of thousands of Bosnia and Herzegovina fans gathered late Tuesday in Sarajevo to celebrate the national football team's qualification for the World Cup.

The celebration, filled with songs, flags, and flares, lasted late into the night. Head coach Sergej Barbarez and captain Edin Dzeko addressed the crowd, expressing gratitude to the fans for their support, as well as to the players and coaching staff for this significant achievement.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team qualified for the World Cup after defeating Italy at the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica. The victory came via a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw at the end of both regular time and extra time.

With this win, Bosnia and Herzegovina has secured its second appearance at the World Cup. In the upcoming tournament, the team will compete in Group B against Canada, Qatar, and Switzerland.
