Reactions started coming in from the early hours of the morning. Chairman of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Dragan Covic, strongly condemned the assassination attempt, stressing that violence is never the solution.

“I strongly condemn the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally. Disagreements are part of democracy, but violence must never be the answer. We must stand united against such acts of terror and defend democracy. I wish Donald Trump a full recovery,” he wrote on X.

The president of BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, also expressed his support to Trump.

“I strongly condemn attempt of assassination of a presidential candidate and former US President, Donald Trump. I wish a speed recovery and fulfilment of all his future ambitions. Violence should never be an answer to any dispute”, he wrote.

The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Becirovic, condemned the assastionation attempt and wrote:

“This horrific act of political violence is absolutely unacceptable. One of the basic foundations of a democratic society is the right to free political activity and the right to freedom of expression. Any political form of violence represents a direct danger to democracy. I wish the former president of the friendly United States of America and presidential candidate Donald Trump a speedy recovery,” said Becirovic.

BiH Presidency member Zeljka Cvijanovic stated that she was shocked by the news about the assassination attempt on the former US president and presidential candidate of the Republican Party in the 2024 elections.

“In these difficult moments, I pray for his health and a speedy recovery,” Cvijanovic said.
