Tourist numbers in Bosnia and Herzegovina soar in May 2025

Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed a total of 202,688 tourists in May 2025, marking a 30.2% increase compared to April and a 4.9% rise from the same month last year.

Tourists generated 399,599 overnight stays, up 24.2% from April and 5.2% more than in May 2024, according to the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Of the total overnight stays in May, domestic tourists accounted for 31.9%, while foreign visitors made up 68.1%.

Overnight stays by domestic tourists rose 41.1% compared to April and 10% year-over-year. Stays by foreign tourists increased 17.6% month-over-month and 3% compared to May 2024.

Among international visitors in April 2025, the most overnight stays were recorded by tourists from:

Serbia (11%), Turkey (10.4%), Croatia (10%), Slovenia (6.9%), China (4.9%), Germany (4.6%), United States (4.3%)

Together, these seven countries made up 52.1% of all foreign overnight stays, with tourists from other countries contributing the remaining 47.9%.
