Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, confirmed that his President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will visit the Balkan countries in September, saying that this confirms Ankara's commitment to peace and stability in the region.
“The visit the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan will make to the Balkan countries next month confirms our commitment to the peace and stability of the region. Turkey strongly supports the peace and stability of the Balkans,” Cavusoglu said, speaking at the opening of the 13th Ambassadors Conference held in Ankara.
Serbia’s Presidency previously confirmed to the Tanjug news agency that Erdogan will arrive in Belgrade at the beginning of September. He is also expected to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as other countries in the region.
“We are working to establish stability, cooperation and prosperity in the Balkans, with which we have deep ties,” Cavusoglu said.
