Twenty years since first mass burial at Potocari Memorial

That was the first of three mass funerals in 2003 at the Potocari Memorial Centre, with other two taking place on July 11 and the third one on September 20. A total of 989 genocide victims were buried that year.

Representatives the Potocari Memorial, local authorities, families and associations of war victims marked the date and paid respects to the victims.

The memorial-cemetery complex was opened on September 20, 2003 and so far 6,721 identified victims of the Srebrenica genocide have been buried at the site.
