Two BiH citizens arrested after attempted smuggling of 15 foreign nationals

According to a statement issued by the Border Police of BiH on Monday, the smuggling attempt was uncovered in the border area near Gradiska. Officers from the Gradiska Border Police unit and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), who assist with border surveillance, stopped and inspected two passenger vehicles with BiH license plates.

Authorities found eight Bangladeshis and one Pakistani in a Skoda, and four Bangladeshis and two Pakistanis in a Renault.

The duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was informed of the incident and ordered the drivers’ arrest, the temporary seizure of evidence, and the submission of a report against them to the Prosecutor’s Office for the criminal offense of migrant smuggling.

The foreign nationals were handed over to the BiH Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, along with a proposal for deportation orders to be issued.
