United Group, the leading provider of telecommunications services and media in Southeast Europe, announced that it has been elected as one of the 13 members of the Executive Board of the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association (ETNO) among Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefonica, BT, Telenor, Telia, TAG and KPN.
During the general assembly of the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association in Skopje, North Macedonia ETNO approved strategic orientation and governance for 2023 and made a few Governance decisions, said UG.
„We are delighted to work with European institutions like ETNO to build a better legislative and regulatory framework that will provide incentives for telecom companies to invest in state-of-the-art infrastructure and enhanced digital services for our consumers. This is a clear recognition of UG’s value in the European digital ecosystem,” stated Dragica Pilipovic Chaffey, UG Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
United Group said that for the next three years Dr Janet Zaharieva, Chief Advisor at Vivacom, will be representing United Group at the Board of Association with other leading providers of digital networks and services in Europe.
ETNO is the principal policy group for European electronic communications network operators. Its members are the backbone of Europe’s digital progress. The appointment gives the United Group a seat at the table for key policy decisions affecting the future of the telecoms sector.
Operating within United Group in Serbia is the SBB company and its EON and Total TV services, while media content is broadcast by television stations and portals N1, Nova S and Sport Klub.
Through this appointment, United Group will actively participate in the delineation of the future of the telecom sector and contribute to ETNO’s objectives 2023 which involve empowering communities through access to inclusive digital infrastructure and services, while enabling a dramatic reduction in carbon emissions.
