Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry rejected accusations by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that Kyiv was involved in the false bomb threats that grounded Air Serbia flights to and from Moscow.

Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said the accusations are groundless.

He told the Ukrinform news agency that Kyiv was dissatisfied with the fact that Serbia had not joined in the European Union sanctions on Russia for its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. “Strong sanctions and the unity of the democratic world can stop this war. We are calling Belgrade to stand up for the truth and join in supporting Ukraine and the values of unity that democratic Europe is based on,” Nikolenko said.

Nikolenko’s statement came after Vucic told the pro-regime TV Pink that Air Serbia will continue flying to Russia despite the bomb threats. He blamed an unnamed European Union member state and Ukraine for the bomb threats.
