More names can be expected to be added to the US black list sanctioning individuals suspected of corruption, US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson said Thursday.
“Yesterday we published sanctions under the Global Magnitsky Act which punishes corruption and the worst abuses of human rights. The list covered many in the Western Balkans and beyond but that list is just one aspect of corruption that the government in Washington is considering and you can expect more names to be released,” Ambassador Nelson said.
"Možete očekivati da će još imena biti na američkoj listi sankcionisanih zbog organizovanog kriminala i korupcije," rekao je Eric Nelson, ambasador SAD-a u BiH. @N1infoSA pic.twitter.com/IuNcWvhdnJ

In an earlier interview with N1, Nelson said the US take corruption abroad just as seriously as corruption within the US as it represents concerns for their national safety, it undermines democracy, it is against their business interests, it undermines human rights, weakens prosperity and safety and the US is determined to deal with it with all the means at their disposal, including sanctions.
Thursday marks the International Anti-Corruption Day and on that occasion, Sarajevo hosted a conference titled “Reform challenges in the fight against corruption in BiH.”
