White House senior official Derek Chollet talked to Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik on Wednesday, warning about potential consequences of the steps recently taken by the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska entity.
Referring to the recent decisions towards the Serb-majority entity's withdrawal from the central institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chollet told Dodik that such moves are “unacceptable.”
“Today in a call with Milorad Dodik I emphasized that steps by the RS ruling coalition to undermine BiH institutions are unacceptable. Corruption and anti-Dayton actions will bear consequences. There must be a return to dialogue within BiH institutions,” said Chollet, the US State Department Counselor.

During his recent visit to Sarajevo Chollet spoke to N1, noting that President Joe Biden and Secretary of the State Antony Blinken are closely following the developments in Bosnia. As for potential sanctions on Bosnian political leaders, he said that such measures for those seeking to undermine the country's stability and unity is an option.
He met Bosnian Presidency members as part of his visit to the country last month.
