According to a statement shared by the U.S. Embassy, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. John Ginkel met with World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) Executive Director Robin Van Puyenbroeck and MDC Sarajevo CEO Edin Sefo to discuss the development of the project.

The proposed WTC Sarajevo is expected to create new jobs and open additional opportunities for U.S. companies and investors. The Embassy said the project would also strengthen Sarajevo’s position as a regional business hub, connecting local enterprises with global markets through the WTCA network.

The U.S. Embassy emphasized that timely action by Sarajevo’s officials and regulatory authorities will be essential to move the construction forward. While no specific timeline was provided, the message underscored the importance Washington places on facilitating conditions for international investment.

The World Trade Centers Association operates a global network of trade and investment hubs aimed at fostering international business connections. A Sarajevo-based WTC would link the city to that global system, potentially enhancing its attractiveness to foreign investors.

“The United States is committed to expanding American business and investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the Embassy stated, reiterating Washington’s support for economic cooperation and private-sector growth in the country.

The project comes amid ongoing discussions about strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economic competitiveness and attracting foreign direct investment, particularly from the United States and European markets.
