The United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has raised concerns over financial mismanagement in Republika Srpska (RS) through a series of posts titled "Where is the money?". The embassy addressed the RS authorities, questioning the handling of public funds by sanctioned individuals and political elites.

“Sanctioned individuals and the politically powerful run the RS like a family business where family and friends benefit. What about the needs of RS citizens?” the embassy asked.

In a short video shared on the official X account of the US Embassy, previously published documents were highlighted, revealing the activities of the family of RS President Milorad Dodik and the companies that have facilitated Dodik’s corrupt actions and hidden income streams, leading to US sanctions.

In October 2023, the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) listed two individuals and four companies forming the core of the support network for Milorad Dodik, a designated national and President of Republika Srpska.

Members of this network, including Dodik's adult children, support his corrupt activities in the RS entity, enabling him to siphon public funds for personal enrichment at the expense of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the country's functional authorities, according to the embassy's statement.
